Savour a true taste of Christmas at Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Dundrum

Dear Customers,

We’re delighted to announce that, from Friday, Uncle Tom’s Cabin bar and restaurant will reopen again for indoor and outdoor seating in line with the latest Government restrictions.

As many of you will know, over the past six weeks we continued to provide a takeaway drinks service from the bar along with our mouth-watering Italian pizzas from the Dublin Pizza Company and quality coffee and treats from our Community Coffee dock.

To kick off the festive season, Uncle Tom’s Bar and Restaurant will open earlier from lunchtime from Friday. And to bring some added Christmas cheer, we are now serving our own special home-made mulled wine and delicious mince pies at our new outdoor seating areas, which can safely accommodate customers and families in a friendly, festive setting.

Our bar team have also concocted an impressive array of hot whiskies, hot ports, hot brandies along with Irish, Bailey’s and French coffees to keep spirits up as you enjoy the festive surrounds of our multiple outdoor seating areas, which are all heated to ensure your maximum comfort in a safe and socially distant setting.

Our Community Coffee dock (open from 8am weekdays and 9am at weekends) outside the front entrance has undergone a festive makeover and is serving every type of coffee using 9th Degree Coffee, roasted in a micro roastery in the heart of Dublin city-centre by James McCormack, founder of the Dublin Barista School.

We’ve also greatly expanded our food offering at Community Coffee. Aside from our own homemade treats – mini-chocolate/salted caramel donuts, double and double chocolate cookies – we’re also featuring vegan and gluten free protein balls, gluten free brownies and vegan coconut cookies from Mama’s Health Treats. We’ve got a gorgeous range of brownies, caramel squares, lemon drizzle loaf and the wonderfully named Snickerdoodles from Daisy Cottage Farm. We’re also serving pain au chocolate plus plain and almond croissants courtesy of Firhouse Bakery.

Uncle Tom’s Bar will continue to offer a takeaway service, with the reduced price of our famous pint of Guinness to just €5. Other favourites such as Heineken and a large selection of traditional and craft beers are also available at reduced prices.

To top it all off, the Dublin Pizza Company outdoor restaurant offers a true slice of Italy for food lovers, serving authentic Italian pizza, fresh Italian pasta and gelato on site. The menu features traditional favourites such as Margherita (just €12.50) and Bufala (€16), the delicious Four Cheese (no tomato sauce – €14.50) and Bianca (no tomato sauce – €14.50), the no cheese Vegan Melanzana (€14.50) and the devilishly spicy Lucifero (€16). There is also a mouth-watering array of new pasta dishes to choose from, including prawn linguine, beef cannelloni and sumptuous Wood Fried Sides.

And if you want to pop in for a mulled wine or pizza – or perhaps both! – why not bring the family down to pick out your Christmas tree, which are now on sale at the front carpark entrance and in the Christmas Forest (located beside the old factory at the back of the building) at unbeatable prices – starting at just €39,99 for 5ft trees. The great man, Santa himself, will also be making regular appearances to greet children from the safe social distance!

On behalf of all the staff at Uncle Tom’s we would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of our customers, old and new, for your patience and understanding in helping us to provide a safe and enjoyable service throughout these challenging times.

We wish you all a very merry and safe countdown to Christmas and we look forward to seeing you at Uncle Tom’s over the coming weeks.
